Me and a friend of mine finished about 80 or 90% if this game on the PS2. Best gaming investment ever. Some of the last challenges are practically impossible, if you ask me. You need to memorize the route (to avoid crashes) and perfect motor skills to control you car...
Yeah... I got to about 97% and left it at that. Maybe just a few races left, but they're the really crazy fast cars. You're right: memorization and a TON of trial/error.
